CANVAS

What is Canvas?

Canvas is a learning management system that lets you run your class online.  You can use it to communicate with students, have a discussion, have students turn in assignments, share grades, share learning resources (syllabus, slides, handouts, videos, etc.), and more.

Features

• Communicate with your class using course Announcements Links to an external site.. Canvas Announcements will email the students, so long as their notification settings don’t prevent it, and include a copy of the announcement on your course site.
• Create weekly Modules Links to an external site. to organize content.  We recommend that Modules include:
  
  • Pages Links to an external site. so you can share  and overview and learning materials with students.  Pages can embed documents (Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and media such as YouTube videos, making them a great way to provide learning content along with guidance for students.
  • Assignments Links to an external site. so students can turn in work and you can grade and provide feedback.
