Making Images
Making your own banner and button images can be a fun way to add personality to your Canvas class. Here are some online tools that simplify image creation.
Most of these are fully online with starting templates you can edit:
- Crello Links to an external site.
- Canva Links to an external site.
- Stencil Links to an external site.
- Adobe Spark Links to an external site. - this also creates video. Use your gcccd.edu login or contact Sherri Braaksma for free Adobe apps.
- Links to an external site.PicMonkey Links to an external site.
- PictoChart Links to an external site. - infographics
- PlaceIt Links to an external site. - super easy (but sometimes tacky) logos and banners
- Pixlr Links to an external site.
- Paint.net Links to an external site.
Tips
- Keep your design consistent throughout the course.
- Use a simple color scheme - no more than a few main colors and a few accent colors.
- Keep it simple.
- For images to work on tablets, they shouldn't be wider than about 730 pixels. File size should be under 40kb so images can download quickly (smaller is better). Check your images on a phone.
