Coach Students "Just in Time"
You can help your students by including links to Canvas help pages the first time you use Canvas features in your class. Here are instructions you can copy and paste into your pages to help your students. You can also direct them to the Canvas Student Guide Links to an external site., which is easily accessed from the Help button in the Global Navigation.
The first time you do a DISCUSSION
Include this in your prompt:
Click the word Reply the first time you see it below to start your initial post.For help, see the "How do I participate in discussions?" video.
The first time you do an ASSIGNMENT
Include this in your instructions:
To turn in your assignment, click the Submit Assignment button in the upper right and Browse to upload your file, then click Submit Assignment. For details, see the "How do I turn in an assignment? video."
The first time you give a QUIZ
Include this in your instructions:

After a few weeks of the Course
Coach your students to look at the gradebook. You could point to these resources:

The first time you ask students to BOOK an APPOINTMENT
Include these instructions:
To book an appointment, go to Canvas and click View Calendar.
Click Scheduler to see the dates.
Click the sign up link to schedule your appointment.
