Frequently Asked Questions

How do I show/hide courses on the dashboard?

Click the Courses button in the main navigation, then select All Courses.  Starred courses will show on the dashboard.  Click the star to toggle.

A course was reassigned but still shows up in the Dashboard for the replaced teacher. 

When teaching assignments are changed, new instructors are added to Canvas, but previous instructors are NOT automatically removed. We encourage ALL TEACHERS to review the People page in Canvas for each course and request that reassigned teachers be removed.  To remove an extra instructor from a course,  please fill out the DELETE a user form. 

My students say they can't get into my Canvas course.  What's wrong?

This is most likely because you haven't published the course. Look for the publish button on your Dashboard or course Home.

Canvas Studio is built into Canvas and super easy to learn and use.  To get started, see our Finding and Creating Content module.

How can I get help with Canvas?

Use the Help button in Canvas for 24-7 support.
