Student Learning Outcomes:  Week 6

  1. Understand what it means to say "We are 95% confident".
  2. Construct and apply a confidence interval for a single population mean.
  3. Construct and apply a confidence interval for a single population proportion.
  4. Interpret the margin of error.
  5. Determine the sample size needed in order to construct a confidence interval with a given confidence level and margin of error.
  6. Understand that the t-distribution is needed for a confidence interval for a population mean if the population standard deviation is unknown.
