Evaluating Information - Module Overview

 

By the end of this lesson, participants will be able to

  • Explain the importance and necessity of evaluating information sources.
  • Define credibility based on a research question or information need.
  • Apply criteria for evaluating information sources to determine whether a source should be used in a specific context.
  • Use advanced web fact-checking techniques to look beneath the surface and determine a website's credibility.

To meet the objectives of this lesson, you will complete the following activities and assessments:

  • Read approximately three Canvas pages of conceptual explanations.
  • Complete a practice activity using your own source and develop skill in building a case for credibility.
  • Take a short quiz on the concepts introduced in this module.
