A hyflex college course merges traditional and online learning methods, providing an adaptable, interactive, and resourceful learning environment.
Flexible Schedule
In a hyflex college course, you'll experience the flexibility of choosing how you want to attend scheduled classes: face-to-face or online via Zoom. You'll need to be either on campus or online at a set time for these classes (those times will be listed in the course schedule). This flexibility caters to your personal needs, be it work schedules, family responsibilities, or different time zones.
Learning Materials
The course materials, presentations, readings, and multimedia resources are at your fingertips for you to revisit and understand at your own pace.
Assignments & Due Dates
Just like any other course, you'll have assignments, quizzes, projects, and/or exams with due dates. Keeping track of these will help you to succeed!
Discussion
Class sessions will include both in-person and online students, and there will be opportunities for all students to engage in interactive discussions, even across modes of attendance. In-person students (“roomies”) can see and hear from their online classmates, and “zoomies” can use online forums to ask questions, share ideas, and engage with their peers and professor.
Instructor Interaction
Your professors are there to guide you, whether in-person, via email, or during office hours (which are held both on-campus and online). Reach out to them whenever you need extra help or clarification.
Time Management and Organization

Technology Requirements
The tech requirements for a hyflex course include access to a reliable internet connection and a device like a laptop or desktop computer, along with a basic understanding of Canvas (our online learning platform) Links to an external site. and any course-specific software.
