Read this first:

Near the first day of class, you will need to sign up for McGraw Hill Connect Online Homework. You will complete two Orientation videos, for points, that will teach you how to use the system. It would be great if you could do this BEFORE the first day of class, so that you have time to ask me questions on the first day of class, if you run into snags.

After the first day of class, you will do your first chapter assignment SB1 (Smartbook 1). There will be Smartbook assignments and HW homework assignments. Each type of assignments will have different settings and we will explore these together in class on the first day.

Since we will be using McGraw Hill Connect to complete online homework for this course, and it is a large percentage of your final grade, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL to purchase and complete this homework in order to be successful in this course. You will need to do homework from a computer desktop or laptop, not an iPad or tablet, and you will need to access to stable Wifi from home or on campus. There are several computer labs on campus that you can use.

Complete your initial registration by accessing Connect through an Assignment link in Canvas (one of the Orientation Videos at the bottom of this page), so that it correctly pairs with our course. (That means: initially DON'T access it by clicking on a tab in the sidebar, nor directly through their website, because this might not pair the course correctly.)

Fa25 IMPT! I am pretty sure that, since Self Service is now pushing your gcccd email address over to Canvas, that when you sign up for Connect, you will need to use your gcccd email address and NOT your personal one. Could the first person who successfully gets signed up for Connect message me through Inbox to let me know if that is true or not, and if they autofilled your email, etc? We will need to have Connect pair correctly with Canvas to push over grades, so if there are snags, we may need to call Connect Tech support...
Choose "free trial" at first so that you don't have money involved right away.
