(EOPS) is here to make sure students disadvantaged by social, economic, educational or linguistic barriers get the resources they need to enroll and succeed at any California community college. How? By offering comprehensive academic and support counseling, financial aid and a bevy of other services aimed at keeping students from dropping out and helping them reach their educational and career goals.

Available to students who are single parents receiving public assistance.

Next Up/Guardian Scholars offers a range of services and resources to help current and former foster youth increase their confidence and ability to become successful, college-educated individuals.

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca College PromiseLinks to an external site. offers up to 2 years of free tuition and mandatory fees for qualifying California residents or eligible AB540 nonresidents in the Fall and Spring semesters! The Promise does not have an application process, there are no forms to submit, and no income requirements. Students who apply to Grossmont or Cuyamaca College and meet the requirements below, by the semester deadline, will be considered for the Promise.

(OSA) supports students in becoming active members of the college community while providing an educational foundation of learning through doing. OSA is responsible for administration of student rights and responsibilities, including student conduct and college-wide complaints. OSA also oversees the Student Health & Wellness Center, Gizmo’s Kitchen/Basic Needs, and Student Development, including student government, student clubs/organizations, and student activities.
The Puente ProjectLinks to an external site. was established in 1981 by Felix Galaviz and Patricia McGrath at Chabot College in Hayward, CA and is an national award-winning program aimed at increasing the transfer success of disproportionately impacted students. Puente follows a 3-part student success model and combines rigorous English instruction, intrusive academic counseling and mentorship. At Grossmont College Puente students also take a culturally relevant course taught from an intersectionally conscious perspective. All students are encouraged to transfer to four-year institutions, earn degrees and return as leaders and mentors to future generations. Puente courses integrate LatinX and multi-cultural literature into lessons, projects and activities.
Success Coaches can help students improve study habits; develop time management and organizing skills, and more. Success Coaches work with other campus programs to connect students with the resources needed to provide support.

UMOJALinks to an external site. is a California statewide program designed to engage and support Black and African American community college students (all students are welcome in UMOJA). The Grossmont College UMOJA Program is a critical student resource which provides students with exciting learning communities featuring amazing professors, financial assistance, and other student services such as Black College (HBCU) Tours for participating students. While students do not have to enroll in our UMOJA Course Offerings to meet with our campus’ UMOJA Academic Counselor and participate in the UMOJA Program, students are highly encouraged to enroll as our UMOJA Classes are designed to ignite our students’ inner excellence and help them realize that people from their backgrounds belong and are needed as leaders in our academic and professional world
